This is
a class focusing on the juncture of new media technology and the
Practice
of journalism. Students will experiment with a variety of editing and
storytelling techniques and explore critical issues facing an evolving
media. There will be three major
projects and a number of smaller mini-assignments, as well as discussion based
on assigned readings. Time will be set aside most weeks for intensive critiques
of the students' work, with an emphasis on process, newsgathering and accuracy
in addition to technological expertise.
